Another day has dawned in beautiful Venice. Our Italian vocabulary has improved already - we have wonderful manners with our grazia's - cant say the same about the Italian drivers - they are so impatient - chop chop clap clap ...... Toot toot....... When you are a little slow crossing the road dragging the luggage behind ....... Got to laugh tho...... Had a wonderful well needed sleep in our classic Italian Hotel. Might catch up with an ex AMP receptionist Nina some time today - Nina is on a bus trip all over Europe and just happens to be in Venice and Florence the same time as us.
Will write again later once we have had a fun packed fill last day in Venice. Off to our first Italian breakfast in the hotel dinng room now...... Hope it's good as we didn't have dinner last night after our filling lunch.

Ciao Italy

Ciao from Venice! We arrived safely on our BA flight from Heathrow. After working out where to catch the bus and how to get tickets out of the machine, we boarded the bus for our hotel. We were dropped off at the bus station and it was only a short walk to Hotel Olympia. (Robyn got told off by an Italian woman driver for taking too long to cross the road)! The hotel is lovely, very old and traditional Italian style right on the edge of the canal. There doesn't appear to be a lift so we had to haul our suitcases up 4 floors. Then, it was off out to lunch. We found a lovely little spot right on the waters edge, where we indulged in Italian wine and delicious lobster and shrimp pasta........yum!. Robyn had grilled scampi. With lunch over we caught a water taxi through the canals, right down to the hub of Vencie, St Marks square. The old buildings and tiny alleyways are so different to anything we have in NZ. We took about an hour to walk back , stopping in the many tiny shops along the way. Robyn brought a water colour painting and I am in search of one of the beautiful Venitian masks that fill every corner. We stopped half way for a lemon tea. For now , we are having our usual Nana and Grandad rest up before we meet again for yet more food! Took endless photos, everything so beautiful!!

So long farewell ...........To London

Another early morning on the tube to Shepherds Bush to escape the cold and wind - a Westfield Mall no less......... Did a wee bit more window shopping (he he) and then back home to do the last load of washing while we have use of free laundry facilities at our apartment..... Smelly clothes from now on in ...... Had a lovely final evening in London at the local pubs - they are all so bustling compared to littl old' Orewa.....and tucked up in our wee apartment packing for the next leg of our adventure. Bona serra...... C u in Italy...
